Whilst being recognised as a multi-award-winning, multi-disciplinary practice is flattering, it’s never been our main focus. What matters most is delivering better architecture - spaces that genuinely improve how our clients live, work, gather and feel every day.
We start every project by carefully listening; to the client, the site, the brief - all of it.
Once we have a good understanding from the above we not only respond to your brief, but also challenge it.
We ask hard questions to tease out further nuances that push the architecture to do better. Our work isn't about trends or show. It's about distilling ideas to purity and producing architecture that improves our clients' lives.
Twenty years have taught us one thing: the best architecture starts with our clients' requirements - always.
We’re not here to take over. We know many clients worry the architect will just impose their own vision and run the show. That’s not how we work. We ask for your trust in the process and we earn that trust by listening closely, challenging ideas when needed and inviting robust, honest discussions.
If something isn’t sitting right with you, we explain, we refine, we test it again and keep going until it feels right. We listen carefully, guide where it helps and never take over with “our way or the highway.”
Collaboration is straightforward, sometimes tough, but always respectful and enjoyable. The result is architecture that truly belongs to you, no matter the size or scale.
Ian's path into architecture wasn’t conventional. High school didn’t hold his interest, so the grades for direct university entry weren’t there. Studying architectural drafting at TAFE instead, though even then Ian didn’t push hard enough to open the university door.
Undeterred, Ian began working under architects - on site, in offices, learning the job from the ground up. In his spare time he devoured architecture books and magazines, teaching himself design through real projects and self-guided study. That mix of hands-on work and constant reading is where Ian actually learned how to design buildings.
After a decade in architecture, including time in London, Ian found another route to the academic side - online study, completing both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees whilst already running his own design practice - doing both full-time.
Taking arguably the longest and hardest road to becoming an architect shows the dogged determination and stamina Ian bring's to every project.
Michael joined in 2023 while starting his Masters degree in architecture.
He’s already shown stronger practical knowledge than most graduates we've worked with - he gets on with things, picks up details quickly and contributes meaningfully across every project.
He assists across all fronts, from drawings and site visits to client discussions and his input is genuinely valuable.
He’s a hard worker who gives everything he’s got. He’s part of the team because he shows up and delivers and he’s only going to keep getting better.
